Mozambique
With the threat of storms gone and the rain clearing a beautiful 10 to 13 knot from the South West, all was set on Lake Neuchâtel for a perfect day’s sailing.
For the Mozambique Gala-Gala team it was a difficult start to the day with a 4th, followed by a DSQ for not completing a penalty turn quick enough, but they finished strongly with a 3rd in the final race of the day.
Mozambique Skipper Deizy Nhaquile was happy with the conclusion of their day, putting things in perspective as it’s a steep learning curve on the SSL47 yachts, “We feel better now after the last race, but we need to remember that Mozambique doesn’t have boats like this, so we are trying to improve and use everything for learning, and maybe tomorrow will be better for us.”
The two races on the final day count for double points, so Gala-Gala can make big strides up the leaderboard if they have a strong day, which they have demonstrated they are capable of.
Racing will be starting at the earlier time of 09:30 CET, so be sure to set your alarm and tune in to https://www.youtube.com/starsailors to catch the concluding action!
